Dings Crusaders 33-24 Bridgwater

Dings Crusaders Points: Try: L Plummer (80), N Dipple (59). Pens: A Westall 4 (12,37,39,49). Penalty Try:  (79). Cons: A Westall 3 (60,79,80).

Bridgwater Points: Try: A Lloyd (41), D Kimberley (51), L Messer (26). Pens: L Cozens (64). Cons: L Cozens 3 (27, 42, 52).

Dings Crusaders consolidate fifth place with this home win over Bridgwater & Albion taking all five points on offer.

Adam Westall gave the home side the lead with a 12th minute penalty goal. The next score did not come till the 26th minute when the visitors took the lead as full back Louis Messer went over and Luke Cozens converted. Two Westall penalties saw the home side go in ahead, 9-7 ahead at the break.

In the opening minute of the second half Albion were back in front as winger Alex Lloyd on his debut went over and Cozens converted for 14-9.

Westall kicked another penalty goal but the visitors seemed in control when flanker Dave Kimberley got his sixth try of the season and with Cozens again converting they were 21-12 ahead after 52 minutes.

Just before the hour mark the home side got over the visitors line as scrum half Neil Dipple went over and Westall converted to make it a two point game.   

Cozens steadied the Albion ship with a penalty goal but two late tries saw the home side home as they were awarded a penalty try and  centre Luke Plummer went over and Westall converted them both to move onto 97 points for the season.

 

Rugby Lions 17-14 Barking

Rugby Lions Points: Try: J Hawken (25), T Handley (42). Pens: J Hawken (1). Cons: J Hawken 2 (25, 42).

Barking Points: Try: J Kellard (63), T Kwilimbe (45). Cons: O Crosby 2 (45, 64).

Rugby Lions are up into sixth place in the table after this narrow home win over Barking who are on of the side’s the Lions leap frog above in the table.       

James Hawken gave the home side the lead in the opening minute of the match. It took 24 minutes for the next score as the home side went 10-0 ahead as Hawken went over and converted in what was the final score of the half.

Two minutes into the second half and scrum half Toby Handley went over and Hawken converted for 17-0.

The visitors were on the scoreboard a few minutes later when replacement winger Tavela Kwilimbe went over and fly half Ollie Crosby converted.

Flanker James Kellard got the second Barking try and again Crosby converted to make it a three point game.

 

 

Ealing 46-26 Chinnor

Ealing were back amongst the tries in this seven try display at home to Chinnor who managed three tries of their own.

The first half was a close affair with the home side just edging it 10-9. 

Ben Hewitt kicked three penalties for the visitor’s whilst centre Joe Price and full back Peter Hodgkinson got the tries for Ealing.

In the second half winger David Howells led the way for the home side with a hat trick to move onto 14 for the season, six clear of anyone else in the division.

Price went onto complete a double and Ben Ward finished the match with 11 points and moved onto 118 for the season 21 clear of Adam Westall in the points scorers list.

 

Canterbury 35-17 Worthing

Worthing Points: Try: M Farnes (75), T Sargaent (31). Pens: T Wells (19). Cons: J Govett (75), T Wells (31).

Canterbury returned to winning ways and took all five points with this home win over Worthing who slip to a ninth defeat in 10 matches.

The home side were ahead on four minutes when Gert De Kock put over a penalty goal.

Tom Wells replied for the visitors but tries form centre Pat Sykes and wing Michael Melford saw the home side 13-3 ahead 26 minutes. Worthing responded with a try of their own on 31 minutes as flanker Tom Sargaent went over and Wells converted to make it a three point game, 13-10. But it was the home side who got the final score of the half as centre Ben Thomas went over and they led 18-10.    

Gert De Kock increased their lead with a penalty early in the second half and soon after scrum half Peter Marshall got the bonus point try and De Kock converted for a 28-10 lead.

Late in the match both sides got another try each including Thomas completing a double for Canterbury. 

 

Havant 5-34 Henley Hawks

Havant Points: Try: S Cruddas (42).

Henley Hawks Points: Try: D Wells (50), J Gaunt (40), J Hennings (18), N Baggett (12). Pens: T Turner 2 (15, 38). Cons: T Turner 4 (12, 18, 40, 50).

Henley Hawks were away day winners at Havant with the home side slipping to a 10th straight defeat.

The Hawks did the damage in the first half when they built up a 27-5 lead running in three tries in the opening 40 minutes as they went into a 27-0 lead. Centre Neil Baggett got the opening score on 12 minutes and Tom Turner converted. Further tries followed from No 8 Jack Henning and scrum half James Gaunt, Tuner converted them both and slotted a couple of penalty goal. In injury time at the end of the half the home side got on the scoreboard as hooker Stephen Cruddas went over for an unconverted try.

In the second half the only score was a bonus point try for the visitors as centre Dan Wells went over on 50 minutes and the Hawks consolidated fourth lace.

 

Lydney 10-45 London Scottish

Lydney Points: Try: C Jones (29), G Porter (24).

London Scottish Points: Try: D Hayward (76), G Swailes 2 (42, 56), I Fullerton 2 (32, 39), O Walbyoff (19), R Bruce (20). Cons: S Amor 5 (20, 39, 42, 56, 76).

The leaders made it 10 out of 10 at Regentsholme taking all five points on offer running in seven tries.

The visitors were ahead when scrum half Owain Walbyoff went over and it was 12-0 on 20 minutes when prop Raynn Bruce went over and Simon Amor converted.

Back came Lydney with two tries of their own as prop George Porter and centre Craig Jones went over for unconverted tries to make it 12-10 after 29 minutes.

The visitors took control with tree tries late in the half to go in 31-10 ahead as second row Iain Fullerton with a brace and full back Gareth Swales went over and Amor added a couple of conversions and the try bonus point was secured.

In the second half the visitors got two more tries with Swales completing a double and replacement Duncan Hayward getting the final try late in the game.

 

Rosslyn Park 23-6 Richmond

Richmond Points: Pens: L Cousins 2 (27, 40).

Rosslyn Park continued their great run with another excellent defensive display in beating Richmond.

It was the visitors who took the lead when Luke Cousins put over a 27ndminute penalty goal but two minutes later and Park were ahead as winger James Strong went over and fly half Rhys Gosling converted. In injury time Gosling and Cousins exchanged penalties and the home side went in 10-6 ahead.

Gosling increased the homes sides lead with a 49th minute penalty goal. Further tries followed from Nick Canty and Alex Cadwallader as the home side ran out comfortable winners
