Leaders
Redruth suffered their first defeat of the season going down to a narrow one
point defeat at home to Cambridge and now only lead the table by three points.
It
was the home side who took the lead when flanker James Mann went over on 17
minutes for a 5-0 lead. Six minutes later Paul Thirlby
put over a penalty goal to increase their lead to 8-0. Late in the half the
home side went further ahead as hooker Owen Hambly
went over and Thirlby converted for a 15-0 half time
lead and another home win looked on the cards.
Nine
minutes into the second half and Cambridge were off the mark with back row
replacement Dave Archer going over and Ben Patston
converted four minutes later slotted a penalty goal to make it 15-10. Patston and Thirlby exchanged
penalty goals and with Patston adding another it was
18-16 on the hour mark.
The
winning score was a drop goal from fly half Craig Evans on 74 minutes.
Redruth
had the chances to win this match with five missed kicks during the match.

Birmingham
Solihull move to within three points of the leaders after this comfortable away
win at Waterloo with the match abandoned on 69 minutes because of adverse
weather conditions but the result stands.
The
home side were first on the scoreboard when Frank Lynch put over a 5th
minute penalty goal.
By
the end of the first quarter the visitors were 14-3 ahead after tries form
flanker Adam Clayton and centre Cameron Mitchell and Mark Woodrow converted
both. James O’Brien put over a couple of penalties for the home side but
further tries form full back Reece Spee and hooker
Ben Phillips saw the Bees go in 26-9 ahead wit the try bonus point
secured.
Mitchell
got the fifth try for the Bees to complete a double but soon after Waterloo were over for a try as flanker Tom Davies went over and
O’Brien converted.
After
that the Bees ran in three more tries before the game was called off.
Woodrow
kicked 10 points and went clear as the leading scorer in the division with 157
eight more than anyone else.

Tynedale’s great season continues with another home win as
they dispatch Stourbridge for their seventh win of the season and picked up a
try bonus point.
It
took them seven minutes to get on the scoreboard as winger James Hoyle went
over and Gavin Beasley converted for 7-0. The visitors got the next score as
flanker Rupert Cooper went over on 22 minutes. Late in the half Tynedale were
in for a second as centre Tim Visser, on loan form Newcastle,
touched down to give his side a 12-5 lead at the break.
Six
minutes into the 2nd half and Jon Higgins put over a penalty goal
for the visitors but Visser got the next try to
complete a double and give the home side a 17-9 lead on 67 minutes.
They
got the try bonus point on 76 minutes when Hoyle completed a double and Beasley
converted. Stourbridge did manage the final score when replacement back Martin
Freeman went over and Higgins converted but the home side took the win to
remain in fifth place.

Cinderford
are seventh after this comfortable home win over a much improved Mounts Bay who
saw their four match winning run come to an end.
The
home side were ahead on two minutes when Tim Stevenson put over a penalty goal.
Seven minutes later it was 10-0 with Stevenson touching down and converting.
Five minutes later they were 17-0 ahead after scrum half Paul Knight went over
and the conversion was good. Stevenson added a second and flanker Chris McNeil
went over by the 25th minute and the try bonus point was in the bag
at 29-0, which was the half time score.
In
the second half both sides managed a couple of tries with flanker Fraser Cliverd going over for the visitors for a double, whilst
the centres David Knight and Dewi Scourfield
got the home tries.
Southend 14-24 Blaydon

a 10th defeat of the season from their 12 matches.

was the home side who took the lead with a 9th minute try from
winger Tyson Lewis and Jake Sharp converted it. Back came the visitors with a
Richard Windle penalty goal and a try from full back
Charlie Rayner which Windle
converted for 10-7 which was the half time score.
Tries
from wing Ben Mercer and No 8 Jason Smithson, both converted by Windle saw them move 24-7 ahead after 61 minutes.
Southend
were back on the scoreboard six minutes later with replacement hooker Isaac
Cook touching down and Sharp again converted.
This
was the last score of the match as Blaydon took the points.

Scrum
half Luke Baldwin got the home side on the scoreboard on 16 minutes with the
games opening try. James Whittingham on his return to
first team action slotted a late penalty goal to send the home side in 8-0
ahead.
Seven
minutes into the second half and the home side went further ahead as hooker Jon
Moyce went over for 13-0.
Wharfedale
were on the board on 63 minutes when replacement Joel Gill went over and Mark
Bedworth converted and then added a 76th minute penalty goal to send
up a tense last few minutes but it was the home side who took the win and the
visitors had to settle for a losing bonus point.
