Nottingham again took all five points in a convincing home win over
bottom of the table Manchester running in eight tries including a hat trick for
Jack Cobden on the wing, and from full back David Jackson.
They were 22-3 ahead at half time with Cobden bagging a brace and full
back David Jackson getting his 10th try of
the season. Tim Taylor converted two of the tries and slotted a late penalty
goal with Gareth Wynne kicking Manchester’s penalty.
In the second half they added five more tries as Cobden and Jackson
completed hat tricks, there were also tries for hooker Joe Duffy and
replacement back Ronan Nirmalendran. Jackson also
added three conversions after Taylor went off and finished the match with 21 points, that took him to the top of the point’s scorers list
with 144, five clear of his nearest rival. He is also the leading try scorer in
the division with 12.

Doncaster are up into fourth place after this
away win at Esher but are some 12 points behind third placed Nottingham.
It took till the 34th minute for the opening score of the
match as referee Mark Wilson awarded the visitors a penalty try and Jamie Lennard converted.
Late in the half right wing Doug Flockhart went
over the Doncaster line, Neil Hallett converted and
it was 7 all at half time.
Doncaster made the perfect start to the second half as two minutes in
wing Wes Davies went over and Lennard converted for
14-7.
Hallett
pulled three points back for the home side but in the final quarter the boot of
Lennard carried the visitors to victory as he put
over two penalties and a drop goal.

Plymouth Albion were home winners over Cornish
Pirates and stay in seventh place in the table.
The home side led 6-0 at the end of the first quarter after two penalty
goals from the boot of Kieran Hallett. The Pirates
were on the board on 25 minutes with the game’s opening try as wing Brian Tuohy went over for an unconverted try. Late in the half
centre Matt Hopper made it three tries in two match as he went over and Hallett converted for a 13-5 half time lead.
Four minutes into the second half and the Pirates were right back in it
as they were awarded a penalty try and James Moore converted.
The score which made the game safe for Albion came on 65 minutes as
flanker Wayne Sprangle touched down and Hallett converted.

Leeds Carnegie ran up the biggest score of the season away at Newbury
running in 13 tries in this 77 point win.
The first try was a penalty try in the 5th minute from
referee Terry hall. By half time they had run in another five and were 42-0
ahead and Alberto Di Bernardo had converted all six. There were seven more in
the second half with winger Lee Blackett adding a hat trick to his first half
effort to finish with four tries, and their other wing Leigh Hinton finished
with a double.

Coventry picked up an excellent away win at fourth placed London Welsh
and are now two points behind eighth placed Cornish Pirates.
Coventry were first on the scoreboard as Myles Dorrian put over a 7th minute penalty goal. The
Welsh took the lead on 22 minutes when right wing Paul Sampson went over and
Mark Harris converted. Five minutes later and Cov
were back in front as No 8 Laurence McGlone continued
his excellent try scoring run and Dorrian converted for
10-7. That was his seventh try of the season, the second most by a forward in
the division.
Harris pulled three points back with a penalty goal and when he dropped
a 34th minute goal they home side were 13-10 ahead, but Dorrian put over a penalty goal to send the sides in all
square at half time.
The Welsh were first to score in the second half as prop Paul Doran
Jones went over for 18-13 after 56 minutes. 12 minutes later and the visitors
were back in front as hooker Chris Whitehead went over and Dorrian
converted for 20-18.
The Welsh were back in front as Aled Thomas
put over a penalty goal on 78 minutes with Harris off the field.
Coventry snatched the win on 80 minutes with a Dorrian
drop goal.
Otley 14-7 Sedgley Park

Otley made it back to back wins with this home success over Sedgley Park
and are now a point behind Newbury.
Fly half Tom Rhodes kicked the home side into a 6-0 lead after 21
minutes. Just after the half hour mark and the visitors were in front as they
got the game’s opening score from flanker Juan Crous
and Phil Jones converted. Late in the half Rhodes put over a third penalty goal
to lead 9-7 at half time.
The only score of the second half came on the hour as prop Steven
Trethewey went over for a try and a 14-7 lead which was the final score.
Exeter 76-21 Rotherham

Exeter Chiefs had another big home win at Sandy Park running in 11 tries
against Rotherham Titans to remain three points behind leaders Leeds
Carnegie.
Danny Gray gave them a first minute lead with a penalty goal. The first
try came three minutes later as centre Paul McKenzie went over and Gray
converted.
They ran in five more tries in the rest of the half with a double for
flanker Tom Johnson and prop Chris Budgen was again
on the scoreboard, Gray added three more conversion as
they went 41-0 ahead. Late in the half the titans did manage a try as winger
Jim McDonald went over and Jonny West converted.
In the second half they added five more tries with McKenzie and full
back Sean Marsden completing doubles.
Bedford 17-15 Moseley

On Friday night the Bedford Blues were home winners over Moseley but it
was a close match and the visitors left with a losing bonus point.
Moseley led at half time thanks to an Ollie Thomas penalty goal and a
try from prop Nathan Williams which went unconverted for 8-0. Seven minutes
into the second half and left wing Ian Davey went over for his 12th
try of the season and Brad Davis converted to make it a one point game.
Four minutes later and they were in front as Davies put over a penalty
goal.
Back came the visitors and they got a try to regain the lead as Nathan Bressington went over and Thomas converted for 15-10 going
into the last 10 minutes.
The Blues snatched a late win when No 8 Rory McKay went over and James
Pritchard, on as a replacement, slotted the conversion to secure the win.
